Abstract
Glavna tema ovog rada je primjena teorije grafova, konkretno, mjera centralnosti u stvarnom događaju. Traženje ključnih vrhova (osoba) u nekoj mreži može poslžiti za prenošenje bitnih informacija. U ovakvim slučajevima, ključno je naći nekoliko bitnih osoba te njihovim ometanjem usporiti, a možda i prekinuti, njihove namjere. U prvom poglavlju smo se upoznali s teorijom grafova i osnovnim pojmovima. Dotaknuli smo se nekih specijalnih tipova grafova te njihovih matrica koje koristimo pri analizi nekih svojstava. Drugo poglavlje nas upoznaje sa društvenim aspektom terorističke grupacije i nekoliko primjera za bolje razumijevanje. Treće poglavlje opisuje metode centralnosti te objašnjava postupak kojim dolazimo do utjecajnog vrha. Priložili smo rezultate konkretne mreže kako bi sve bilo vidljivije. Također smo komentirali što se dogada s mrežom nakon uklanjanje jedne ili dvije osobe pronađene na ovakav način. Naposlijetku, posljednje poglavlje obuhvaća sve rezultate i ističe nekoliko bitnih imena koja su se poklopila sa istragama napada 9/11
Abstract (english)
Main subject of this paper is graph theory in real life, concretely, centrality measures in real terrorist attack. Searching main nodes (persons) can improve sending crucial information through the network. In this cases, it is important to find few persons and with obstruction we can slow, or even more, stop their intentions. In the first chapter we meet graph theory and basic terms. Every graph has it’s own neighborhood matrix which is used in the analysis of networks. Second chapter introduces us with social aspects of terrorist groups and we present several examples. Third chapter describes each centrality measure and explains the procedure of finding the most important nodes. For terrorist network 9/11, there are concrete results. We investigate what happens with the network after we found and remove one or two people in this way. In the end we mention the persons that our centrality proved to be the most important. Some of the names are shown as the most important for the attack and they were important for this attack in real life as well.
