Abstract
U ovom završnom radu objasnit ćemo pojam interpolacije funkcije polinomom te dokazati egzistenciju i jedinstvenost Lagrangeovog interpolacijskog polinoma. Definirat ćemo Newton-Cotesovu kvadraturnu formulu, obraditi njezine specijalne slučajeve: pravilo središnje točke, trapezno pravilo i Simpsonovo pravilo. Odredit ćemo njihove kompozitne oblike, procijeniti pogreške aproksimacije pomoću Peanove jezgre te navesti primjere.
Abstract (english)
In this bachelor’s thesis we will explain polynomial interpolation of a function, prove the existence and uniqueness of Lagrange polynomials. We will define the NewtonCotes quadrature formulae and their special forms: the mid-point rule, the trapezoidal rule and Simpsons rule. For each case, we will determine the composite rule, estimate the approximation error using the Peano kernel and demonstrate an example.
