Abstract
Ovaj rad se bavi ulogom i važnosti matematike u svakodnevnom životu. Naime, mnoge životne izazove moguće je riješiti primjenom matematike te je ustanovljeno kako su pojedinci koji posjeduju sposobnost korištenja usvojenih matematičkih znanja puno uspješniji u društvu. U radu smo se upoznali s PISA-inim istraživanjem te je opisan njezin konceptualni okvir matematičke pismenosti. Matematička pismenost odnosi se na sposobnost pojedinca da koristi matematizaciju, tj. da matematički formulira kontekstualizirani problem, primjenjuje matematičke koncepte, činjenice i postupke te da zaključuje, tumači i vrednuje matematičke rezultate. Navedene su i osnovne matematičke sposobnosti koje su zastupljene u ovim matematičkim procesima. Prikazani su i posljednji rezultati PISA-inih istraživanja koji predočavaju kvalitetu pojedinih obrazovnih sustava te daju smjernice za njihovo poboljšanje. Na samom kraju navedeni su i objašnjeni primjeri zadataka korištenih u PISAinom istraživanju matematičke pismenosti.
Abstract (english)
This thesis deals with a role and importance of mathematics in everyday life. In fact, many life challenges can be dealt with by using mathematics and it has been determined that individuals with capabilities of using mathematical knowledge they’ve been taught are more successful in life. In this thesis we get familiar with PISA’s research and its conceptual framework of mathematical literacy is given. Mathematical literacy relates to individuals ability of using mathematisation, i.e. to mathematically formulate contextualized problem, to apply mathematical concepts, facts and procedures and to make conclusions, interpretations and evaluations of mathematical results. Basic mathematical capabilities represented in these mathematical processes are also listed. Last results of PISA’s research are shown. They represent the quality of particular educational systems and provide guidelines for enhancements. Examples used in PISA’s research of mathematical literacy are given and explained at the end of the thesis.
