Abstract
O egipatskoj matematici saznaje se iz dvaju izvora: Rhindovog i Moskovskog papirusa. Iz zadataka koji se nalaze u njima spoznali smo način na koji su egipćani zapisivali brojeve, način na koji su zbrajali, oduzimali, množili, dijelili; saznali smo o razlomcima, pravilima za zapisivanje razlomaka,... U tim papirusima nalazili su se i problemi koji se odnose na geometriju. Najvažnija otkrića bile su formule za odredivanje površine kruga i volumena krnje piramide. Od velike je značajnosti spomenuti egipatsku Veliku piramidu, koja je jedna od najznamenitijih postignuća u povijesti čovječanstva.
Abstract (english)
Most of our knowledge of mathematics in Egypt is derived from two papyri: the Rhind Papyrus and the Golenischev Papyrus. Because of tasks that are in them, we know the ways of writing, summing, subtracking, multiplying and dividing the numbers and writing the fractions. Problems related to the geometry were also located in these papyri. The most important discoveries were the formulas for determining the ares of a circle and the volume of a truncated pyramid. It is of great significance to mention Egypt Great Pyramid, which is one of the most prominent achievements in the history of mankind.
