Abstract
U ovom je radu opisana gama funkcija, kao i njena osnovna svojstva te određene primjene. Uvodni dio daje povijesni pregled gama funkcije, dok su u glavnom dijelu rada navedene definicija te dokazana osnovna svojstva gama funkcije. Dokazan je i Bohr-Mollerupov teorem, koji daje uvjete pod kojima je gama funkcija jedinstvena. Posljednji dio rada opisuje određene primjene gama funkcije, primjerice primjene u vjerojatnosti i integralnom računu.
Abstract (english)
The gamma function is described in this paper, as well as some of her properties and certain applications. A historical overview of the gamma function is given in the introductory part of the paper. The main part focuses on the definition and proofs of some properties of the gamma function. The Bohr-Mollerup theorem is proved, which states conditions under which the gamma function is unique. The last part of the paper describes certain applications of the gamma function, for instance applications in probability and integral calculus.
