Abstract
Ovaj rad nas upoznaje s funkcijama izvodnicama vjerojatnosti, momenata, kumulanata te karakterističnim funkcijama i njihovim značajnim svojstvima koje nam olakšavaju rad sa slučajnim varijablama. Sve su navedene funkcije definirane i analizirane kroz iskaze i dokaze važnih tvrdnji. U raznim primjerima prikazano je kako pomoću funkcija izvodnica dolazimo do momenata i distribucija sume nezavisnih slučajnih varijabli kao i međusobna povezanost sve četiri navedene funkcije izvodnice.
Abstract (english)
This paper introduces probability generating functions, moment generating functions, cumulant generating functions and characteristic functions along with their significant properties that can facilitate the work with random variables. All these functions are defined and analysed through important statements and proofs. The way of calculating moments and sums of independent random variables, as well as the connection between all four stated generating functions are presented through various examples.
