Abstract
Tema ovog rada je Jordanova forma matrice. U radu su definirani osnovni pojmovi iz linearne algebre, kao što su svojstvene vrijednosti, karakteristični i minimalni polinom, dijagonalizacija matrice, Jordanovi lanci te invarijantni potprostori. Predstavljena je motivacija za uvođenje Jordanove forme matrice, te je objašnjen postupak njezinog određivanja. Navedeni su teoremi o egzistenciji i jedinstvenosti navedene forme, te je na primjeru objašnjen postupak određivanja Jordanove forme matrice. Također su navedeni problemi pri numeričkom računanju Jordanove forme te je istaknuta njezina važnost kod primjene matričnih funkcija.
Abstract (english)
The topic of this paper is the Jordan form of a matrix. In the paper are defined the basic terms from linear algebra such as eigenvalues, characteristic and minimum polynomial, matrix diagonalization, Jordan chains and invariant subspaces. The motivation for introducing Jordan form is presented and the procedure for its determination is explained. Theorems of the existence and uniqueness of the given form are stated, and the procedure for determining the Jordan form of the matrix is explained using an example. There are also stated problems in the numerical calculation of Jordan form and importance of its application for matrix functions
