Abstract
U ovom ćemo radu proučavati ekstreme funkcija jedne varijable i njihove primjene. Krenut ćemo od definiranja fundamentalnih pojmova kao što su limes, neprekidnost i derivacija. Zatim ćemo definirati lokalne ekstreme te iskazati i dokazati teoreme potrebne za njihovo određivanje. Nakon toga bavit ćemo se primjenama ekstrema u ekonomiji, fizici, medicini, itd. uz odgovarajuće primjere.
Abstract (english)
In this paper we will study extrema of single variable functions and their applications. We will start by defining fundamental concepts like limit, continuity and derivative. Then we will define local extrema and state and prove theorems which are necessary to determine them. After that we will go through several applications of extrema in economics, physics, medicine, etc., with appropriate examples.
