Abstract
Pobliža objašnjenja pojmova rednih i kardinalnih brojeva i njihove povezanosti s hipotezom kontinuuma, dokazi njihovih osnovnih svojstava i svojstava kardinalne i ordinalne aritmetike te ukratko opisan proces dokaza neovisnosti hipoteze kontinuuma od Zermelo–Fraenkelove teorije skupova čine okosnicu ovoga rada. Svrha ovoga rada, koja se očituje kroz detaljna objašnjenja toka misli i zaključaka u dokazima teorema te u općim razmatranjima pojmova koji se uvode, čitatelja je postupno, na pristupačan i jasan način, upoznati s apstraktnim pojmovima rednih i kardinalnih brojeva te kompleksnim tumačenjem hipoteze kontinuuma postavljajući tako temelj za njihova daljnja izučavanja.
Abstract (english)
Closer explanation of the concepts of ordinal and cardinal numbers as well as their relationship to the continuum hypothesis, proofs of their fundamental properties and the properties of cardinal and ordinal arithmetic and the brief description of proving the independence of continuum hypothesis from Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory make up the framework of this paper. The purpose of this paper, which manifests itself in detailed explanations of thought processes and ideas throughout the proofs of theorems as well as general examination of terms which are defined, is to gradually introduce the reader to abstract concepts of ordinal and cardinal numbers and complex analysis of continuum hypothesis, setting the foundations for further research.
