Abstract
U ovom ćemo se radu baviti vjerojatnosnim problemom iz 19. stoljeća. Prvo ćemo proučiti povijesni razvoj vjerojatnosti i upoznati se s prilikama i vremenom u kojem je živio Joseph Louis Francois Bertrand. Zatim ćemo se pozabaviti nekim osnovnim vjerojatnosnim definicijama. Za razumjevanje Bertrandovog paradoksa će nam biti potrebne definicije pokusa, prostora elementarnih događaja i geometrijske vjerojatnosti. Vidjet ćemo da postoje različiti pristupi geometrijske vjerojatnosti koje ćemo upoznati i preko primjera. Detaljno ćemo proći kroz sve interpretacije Bertrandovog problema.
Abstract (english)
In this work, we will deal with the probability problem of the 19th century. We will first study the historical development of probability and become acquainted with the circumstances and times in which Joseph Louis Fran¸cois Bertrand lived. We will then learn some basic probability definitions. To understand Bertrand’s paradox we will need definitions of experiment, space of elementary events, and geometric probability. We will see that there are different approaches to geometric probability that we will get to know through examples as well. We will go through all the interpretations of Bertrand’s problem in detail.
