Abstract
U ovom radu ćemo se baviti simetričnim svojstvenim problemom. U uvodu ćemo navesti osnovne definicije vezane za svojstveni problem kao što su definicija svojstvene vrijednosti i vektora, karakteristični polinom i neke od njihovih karakteristika. Zatim ćemo definirati što znači da je matrica simetrična (hermitska) i ortogonalna (unitarna) te kada su sdvije matrice slične. U nastavku ćemo iskazati i dokazati Schurov teorem te navesti iterativne metode za rješavanje simetričnog problema, njihove algoritme te primjere.
Abstract (english)
In this paper, we will deal with the symmetric eigenvalue problem. In the introduction, we will state the basic definitions related to the eigenvalue problem, such as the definition of eigenvalue and vector, characteristic polynomial and some of their characteristics. Next, we will define what it means that a matrix is symmetric (Hermitian) and orthogonal (unitary) and when the two matrices are similar. In the following we will state and prove Schur’s theorem and list iterative methods for solving a symmetric problem, their algorithms and examples
